M. Aymen Ben Abdessalem

Dr. Mohamed Aymen Ben Abdessalem is an interventional cardiologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Sousse and Farhat Hached University Hospital, Sousse, Tunisia. His clinical practice focuses on complex coronary interventions, acute coronary syndromes, chronic total occlusion (CTO) PCI, intracoronary imaging, and the management of coronary complications. He is actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees and has contributed to the development of interventional cardiology training in Tunisia. He is an active clinical researcher with more than 35 peer-reviewed publications. His research interests include complex PCI, spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD), transradial coronary intervention, coronary imaging, and national PCI registries. He is a frequent faculty member at regional and international cardiovascular meetings and is committed to advancing interventional cardiology practice and education across Africa and the Mediterranean region.

After graduating from the University of Tunis El Manar (Tunisia), he completed advanced fellowships in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Catania (Italy) under Prof. Alfredo R. Galassi and at the Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (Canada). He is currently an interventional cardiologist at CHU Saint-Étienne (France). He has authored more than 190 peer-reviewed publications, is a frequent invited faculty member at major international cardiovascular meetings, and serves on the editorial boards of several leading cardiology journals.
